Third's engagement in the fight against coronavirus: update of 5th of May 2020
Saint-Nazaire facing Covid19, a solid boost of solidarity put to use
In Saint-Nazaire, it was Alexandre Grière who initiated the movement by manufacturing the first visor in 3D printing. Very quickly joined by the BlueLab, led by Damien Henry, and other makers they were able to urgently supply the medical sector. Thus, 3D printing has shown its strong adaptability and responsiveness to deal with the situation.
Third mobilizes and considerably increases the production rate
Given the increase in demand and, aware of the health crisis facing us, we wanted to join this dynamic. Endowed with larger production means, 13 industrial machines have been mobilized at Third last weeks for nearly 15 000 parts manufactured.
The machines run night and day and our team is organized to optimize production. It is without counting on quality material that has favored this efficiency.
The deconfinement, yes but we respect the barrier gestures!
As part of the deconfinement and the necessary sanitary measures, the demand for visors has been multiplied by professionals wishing to protect themselves so they can restart activity.
With this rapidly growing trend, Third has adapted and wished to invest to increase its production capacity tenfold. Thus, we organized ourselves to be able to supply 4000 visors per day and soon up to 20 000. This then allows us to offer visors to a larger number of people with a reduced price.

3D printing is also the opportunity to respond to your ideas
Although the production of protective equipment has been recurrent in recent times, we are of course continuing to work on specific requests relating to your needs. Remember, 3D printing is the master in customization.
